F-Prot for Windows is configured by an administrative user for all users. it uses HKLM/Software/FRISK Software International/FP-Win/
Means of pre-configuring for multiple users
[1] own automated means of pre-config
[2] put in Default User (may have to point there too)
[3] create .reg file or run application and set prefs for template user account, both of which are manual tasks

Do preferences contain any user-specific data?
Preferences worth making (using application) On-Demand Scanner:
Scan -> Options -> What to scan -> By content and extension
Scan -> Options -> What to scan -> Compressed files
Scan -> Options -> What to scan -> Inside archives
Scan -> Options -> What to scan -> Inside subfolders
Scan -> Options -> What to scan -> scan boot sectors
Scan -> Options -> Action to take -> Disinfect
Scan -> Options -> Action to take -> Disinfect -> (if fails) ... -> Application files -> Move file to: (i.e.) D:\programs\F-Prot\Moved
Scan -> Options -> Action to take -> Disinfect -> (if fails) ... -> Documents -> Report only
Scan -> Options -> Action to take -> Request confirmation

(alternatively it may be worth creating different profiles of the above settings for different situations)

unsure about this but an alternate means of doing this is by making the same choices as above in Scan -> Advanced -> [HARD DRIVES] -> Edit, then choose 'Set As Default'

Settings -> Make a sound when a virus is found
Settings -> Report -> Report file (i.e.) D:\programs\F-Prot\Report.txt
Settings -> Report -> Append to file

Real-Time Protector:
in Windows 95 and 98 (non multi-user operating systems), you can set options for the Real-Time Protector

Updater
set the Updater to use either 'Internet (on-line)' or 'Local network (LAN)' depending on your situation

Scheduler
Define whether the Scheduler runs on startup or not with: Settings -> Run on startup
Set the tasks in the updater to the times and frequency you want, using the 'Change' and 'Schedule' buttons. if you used the 'Set As Default' option in the On-Demand Scanner then you can retrieve those saved settings here with the 'Get Defaults' button
